Alberta Has Added 200,000 Joins Since 2021

Doug Schweitzer, Alberta Job Minister, recently said that 200,000 more jobs were added in Alberta since January 2021. The unemployment rate in Alberta has dropped to 4.9%, the lowest it’s been since 2015.

What you need to understand is that Alberta went through an economic and housing recession from 2014-2020 and now the province is swiftly recovering, led by Calgary and Edmonton.

Putting this into perspective, the benchmark condo price in Calgary still hasn’t beat its 2014 high. Stop chasing areas that have performed well in the past. You have to look to areas that will perform well in the future – my top city for real estate investment over the next 5 years is Calgary hands-down... and I'm buying!
